About Me:

Hi, I'm Kat. I graduated from Circleville High School in 2006 and I wrote for my school's newspaper, Tiger Tracks, for two years as the photography editor and the online editor. English has always been one of my strong subjects, although my high school teachers made me feel otherwise. I am now a second year Journalism major at UC. I started off as a business major, but after much research and thought, I decided to switch to journalism. I am sure that this was the right decision for me. I am very excited to continue pursuing my degree, although I am still not sure which track I want to take. I was very inspired by the movie about Dan Eldon, "Dying to Tell the Story" which is why I am so drawn to photography and the art of being a photojournalist. My dream is to work as a photographer for National Geographic Magazine. I would also like to work for Cosmopolitan. I am planning on minoring in Women's Studies. Here at UC, I am a member of Alpha Lambda Delta and the UC Women's Chorus. I would like to join the Society of Professional Journalists in the fall, and I also want to work for The News Record and get an awesome internship. After graduation, I am planning on going to graduate school, although I am not sure for what yet!! I also want to travel--I am a sucker for traveling! If you ever want to chat, you can IM me on AIM at cvilleswimmer06 or email me.
